Background:Urban struck out nine while tossing a no-hitter during Lawrence High’s 10-0, five-inning thumping of Shawnee Mission North last spring. Urban — who possesses a fastball that has been clocked around 86 mph, overcame a case of “the yips” in 2008 and earned a spot as a 2009 All-Sunflower League second team selection. Urban was the winning pitcher for Lawrence High as they beat Shawnee Mission West to win the 2009 Class 6A state title.
