In seven postseason games, which included a three-game sweep of the Reading Phillies in the first round, Head batted .345 (10-for-29) with nine RBIs and seven runs scored. Akron knocked off the Connecticut Defenders in 4our games to wrap up the EL Championship on September 19th .

"We won 14 of our last 15 games, so it was a good way to finish the year," Head told the Topeka Capital-Journal. "It's a nice honor for me to win the MVP and for our team to go that far and get something out of it with a championship."

Head has been a versital player this season for the Aeros and his manager was nothing but complimentary towards Head and his play this season.

"I can't say enough about what Jerad Head has meant to this team this year," Aeros manager Mike Sarbaugh told The Akron Beacon-Journal. "He practically carried the team offensively in April when so many others got off to slow starts. Jerad has such a consistent approach to hitting. It is such a luxury to have someone with a little pop in their bat in the nine hole for us."

Jerad was a member of the inuagural Golden Giants roster back in 2005. The Golden Giants would like to congratulate him on his award and for winning the Eastern League championship.

Way to go Jerad!
